Tamsin Amy Shares Her Go-To Picks
We sat down with Tamsin Amy and her partner, Henry, to discuss their upcoming wedding and all things gift-giving. The tastemaker and bride-to-be (and Rhubarb’s mum, first and foremost), gave us the low-down on her wishlist, essential wedding advice and exclusive wedding favour sneak peeks.
BEST AND WORST GIFT YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED (YOU CAN BE HONEST, WE WON’T TELL).
Henry: Worst is a weight loss book (passive-aggressive auntie). Best has to be a remote control Porsche Cayenne Turbo with a camera in the car and a screen on the remote. Wedding related, Tamsin’s father gave me a gold engraved Le Grande DuPont lighter.
Tamsin: I actually can’t think of the worst gift I’ve ever received as I think I’ve been very lucky! My wedding present from Henry’s parents was one of the best I’ve ever received. They were a pair of emerald earrings to match my engagement ring which was so thoughtful and they were so beautiful.

WHO IS THE DESIGNATED GIFT GIVER?
Henry: Definitely Tamsin!
Tamsin: I would have to agree! I don’t know if it’s the Taurus in me or the fact that I’m obsessed with attention to detail, but I find such joy in researching and curating gifts for people. I can always tell when someone has put thought into a gift for me, and it makes me so happy, so I hope I can do the same for others. It also makes life so much easier when websites like THE GO-TO exist because a lot of the curation and research has already been done!
WE RECENTLY GOT SENT THIS DILEMMA AND THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE THE BEST PERSON FOR ADVICE: WHAT LOW-RISK TASKS CAN I DELEGATE TO MY FUTURE MIL WHO INSISTS ON BEING INVOLVED IN EVERY DETAIL OF MY BIG DAY?
Oooh, this is a great question! As we’ve both recently learned, weddings can get very political. Luckily my MIL is fanatastic and I didn’t have this particular dilemma, but I think the best way to appease someone like this is by giving them something that makes them feel very important and also keeps them busy… e.g. ensuring that every one of the guests has had their photo taken by the photographer. With a task like this, she’s working her way around the room, keeping busy with guests, making her feel valued and important throughout the day. You can also brief the photographer beforehand so even if she doesn’t do this task to the best of her ability, the job will still get done.
LET’S TALK ALL THINGS WEDDING FAVOURS. WHAT ARE THE GUESTS LUCKY ENOUGH TO CRACK THE INVITE GETTING?
For our civil ceremony party, guests were given a selection of Sobranies, personalised cigars, and personalised matches (from THE GO-TO, of course). Non-smokers received personalised love hearts! As our wedding in Italy is going to be very intimate (and across multiple days), the guests are going to be incredibly lucky (in our opinion) with party favours as we’re curating things that are both personal and can be used during our destination wedding.
Without giving too much away, these are some of the gifts guests can expect: personalised pillowcases - the chicest option for our guests to rest their head each night, reusable film cameras - we loved having disposable cameras at our Civil and this is the best ways for everyone to capture those special moments for our wedding in a unique way, and finally, monogrammed cigar cases for the boys and Zodiac silk eye masks for the girls - a fabulously personal way for both encouraging the party and recovering from the party!
