The Fall Bride Founder Shares Her Go-To Picks
We sat down with Annelise, founder of London's it bridal boutique, The Fall Bride, to talk 2024 wedding trends, registry curation and more. The contemporary bridal wear expert gave us her view of the present-day bride and all the insights into her perfect picks for The Fall Bride.
TELL US ABOUT YOU AND HOW YOU GOT INTO BRIDAL
After I graduated from London College of Fashion I worked in London's fashion industry for over a decade - I started in wholesale and ultimately specialised in digital marketing and branding. During my last job at a fashion PR firm a couple of colleagues of mine got engaged; obviously, all we cared about was what they were going to wear. As I watched them go through the dress research and shopping process I realised there was a huge gap in the market for a more contemporary product and experience. The rest, as they say, is history.
A FALL BRIDE'S MUST HAVES
FINDING THE PERFECT GOWN IS A NOTORIOUSLY TRYING PROCESS (MUCH LIKE FINDING THE PERFECT GIFT), HOW IS THE THE FALL BRIDE EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT FROM THE MAINSTREAM?
Our selection of designers (and gowns) is very carefully curated - we consider a lot of factors when buying, such as fabric, fit, production quality, price point, and overall aesthetic. It's important to us to make the shopping process as relaxing and smooth as possible, so we also aim to carry everything that our bride could need after the gown - veils, jewellery, hair accessories and shoes. Our team is trained to look after and guide our brides all the way through to the wedding day.
A WEDDING CONNOISSEUR OF SORTS, WHAT ARE THE 2024 WEDDING TRENDS ON YOUR RADAR?
Drop waists and bubble hems - I never thought I would say it, but the 90s and 00s trends have resurfaced in bridal and I am not mad about it. Drop waists are wildly flattering on any figure, and offer a fun, fashion-forward take for a ballgown silhouette.
YOU’RE CURATING A REGISTRY FOR THE FALL BRIDE. WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE FROM THE GO-TO?
Planning a wedding can be stressful, you need to take time for some self care, for this, the re-usable eye-masks would be a must-have. And, for celebrating, I love a Picante and there is nothing sweeter than a personalised bottle for your girlfriends. Lastly, my preferred hen-do style is fun and tongue-in-cheek so the Getting Hitched Cap and Trophy Wife Cushion (no comment required)!
