For Those Who Don’t Know, Give Us The 411 On Georgie Gray
I'm a fashion stylist and creative consultant working across editorial, campaigns, red carpet and private clients. I also work closely with brands on creative direction and developing upcoming collections, from initial concepts through to the final vision. I've always had a love for vintage and archival fashion, mixing designer with unexpected finds to create something individual. My approach has never been dictated by trends. For me, it's about timeless style, personality and those little details that make a look feel unique to the person wearing it. I've always believed you should wear the clothes, not let the clothes wear you!
What First Drew You To Styling, And What’s Been Your Biggest Pinch-Me Moment?
I’ve always loved fashion and the way clothes can completely change how you feel. I was naturally drawn to the creative side of styling, discovering vintage treasures, playing with different references and creating looks that feel authentic to the women wearing them.
One of the things I love most about this industry is the people you meet along the way. Being surrounded by so many talented, creative minds, all bringing different ideas and perspectives, is something I find endlessly inspiring.
A real pinch-me moment was working on the global GUESS x Leonie Hanne campaign. Drawing inspiration from the iconic GUESS archives and the original ’90s It-girls, then collaborating with such a talented team to bring that vision and collection to life, was so special. Seeing everything evolve from those first references and moodboards into a global campaign is a feeling that never gets old!
Another moment has to be Dolce & Gabbana HQ in Milan. Being surrounded by that level of craftsmanship, creativity and fashion history was incredible. And, of course, the amount of leopard print everywhere! I was completely in my element.
Three Festive Non-Negotiables For Party Season?
A great silhouette, an unexpected detail and the right accessories! For me, it’s all about finding that balance between effortless and dressed up. I love playing with textures, whether that’s velvet, lace or a touch of leopard print, which I’ve always considered a neutral! Accessories can completely transform an outfit, whether it’s a fabulous pair of heels, statement jewellery or a vintage bag. The best party looks are the ones that still feel like you, just with a little extra attitude.
Gifting Is A Lot Like Styling, Who’s The Trickiest Person On Your List?
Definitely my dad! He’s impossible to buy for, unless it involves golf. I love your Golf Addiction Set which is right up his street, but personally I think his life could do with a little more leopard print! So I’d go for the leopard trinket tray. He’s forever losing his keys, so it’s practical, looks great and means he’ll have a daily reminder of his daughter. Whether he likes it or not, a little piece of me will be sitting in his house.
Your Ultimate Christmas Gift Guide: Which 6 Pieces Make The Cut?
For me, gifting is all about finding those unexpected things that feel personal without being too obvious. I love gifts that look just as good in your home as they do being used. A beautiful backgammon set, leopard print trinket trays (obviously!), jewellery boxes disguised as books, statement mugs and a great coffee table book are always on my list. I’m also a big fan of gifting games like Connect 4, something everyone can get involved in over Christmas.
I’ve always loved THE GO-TO for its mix of fun, beautifully curated finds and things you wouldn’t necessarily come across yourself. I think the best gifts have a bit of personality, something that makes you think, “That’s so them!”
