Food and liquid containing oils, acids and strong pigments can cause markings or discolouration.

Stop burning your candle when wax reaches less than 2cm from top of holder. Wait until wax has completely dried before removing and cleaning. To remove incense ash, wait until the stick has finished burning and has cooled, then tip out. Wipe clean with soft damp cloth, if needed. Any incense that may become stuck in the opening can be removed with tweezers or a fine pin.

Be careful not to drop or knock the piece against a hard surface, as impact may cause it to chip or crack.
